Gutted to have missed out on our class jaunt to David Austin Roses whilst I was away in Shropshire! I went the day before and Charlie showed me around, but my fellow floristry students at Hugh Baird College, Bootle were treated to a full 2 and half hour tour including demonstrations by their new head gardener of the way roses are bred.
Apparently I missed the fabulous Sea Bass in the main restaurant too! although - must say the Cheese Scones with Butter, Cheese & Pickle I had in the Coffee Shop the day before where amazing & best i've ever tasted.
Very tempted to buy some more roses for my garden as I'm lucky to have clay soil - counted 26 so far in my garden (not all David Austin's - there's some Peter Beale's in there too) so finding a space will be harder than finding a new fabulous rose!
Speaking of new roses - Emily Bridgewater (New DA unveiled at RHS Chelsea is amazing & even produced a Heart Shaped Bloom for a photo - wasn't that good of her x)
Here are some photos from the Level 2 Technical Certificate in Floristry group's visit & some of my photos too
